Gardens and the building of gardens are my passion.

In fact, gardens are the passion of many in Metro Vancouver. We’re proud of our green space … and this section will be dedicated to some of the greens and colours found across our metro area.

Create Urban habitats!

My desire is to encourage folks with backyard gardens to think of creative ways to transform their plots of nature, back to nature.

It would be wonderful if we could all help build and plan, either entirely or a portion, of our back and front yards into pieces of urban wildlife refuge (or is that recluse?).

Plan your gardens with places for song birds, hiding spots for toads and treefrogs, flowers & blossoms for bees and hummingbirds … fruit trees for your family and neighbours.

Watch this Space. See what We will do! …

Our neighbourhood will be transforming our front city sidewalk areas into planted gardens.

Truckloads of city compost (originated from citizens’ garden waste) will be dumped on our streets in short order. In addition, a bunch of plants will be living in the normally ubiquitous bland lawn space. We will supplant, transplant and replant our grass lawns with flowers, shrubs and places for urban critters.

A photo chronology will appear here as soon as we start later this month (May 2009)!
